id22: Institute for Creative Sustainability
id22 is a multidisciplinary, non-profit organization, based in Berlin, that researches and promotes community-led housing in the context of a sustainable, cooperative urban development, emphasizing inclusion and self-organization. For many years, id22 has been offering educational and networking services, organizing the annual event EXPERIMENTDAYS with the CoHousing Project Market and coordinating the online platform CoHousing Berlin. In addition to a large number of articles, id22 has also produced the publication and exhibition CoHousing Cultures.

An International Movement
The visions and strategies of the many projects, authors and experts included in this book are part of a growing network active in defining the European CoHousing landscape. This encompasses community-led, collaborative and cooperative housing approaches with a focus on inclusion to help better understand the possibilities as well as the challenges. This publication is intended to be a source of information and inspiration for all of those searching for inclusive housing as well as those studying and working with such questions.

The EXPERIMENTDAYS are a platform for cooperative housing projects, ideas and actors of creative sustainability in order to understand the city as a designed living space. Since 2003, the EXPERIMENTDAYS has offered the possibility to learn about different kinds of self-organized housing, find other supporters and to think about the future of urban development.
